Archbishop Ieronimos was elected leader of the Church in February
The Greek Orthodox Church has expressed opposition to plans by the Athens government to give greater rights to unmarried couples.
The Church's governing synod said it considered all common-law marriages to be tantamount to "prostitution".
The government proposes to give common-law couples the same rights as those who have gone through legal or religious ceremonies.
It wants to harmonise Greek law to European standards.
The new law would allow unmarried couples to make their relationship legally binding, by signing a simple notarial contract.
In its statement, the Church said that the proposal constituted a "catastrophic bomb" under the foundations of Greek society.
The leader of the Church, Archbishop Ieronimos, who was elected in February, had last week refused to comment on the government's plans, saying they came under the jurisdiction of civil authorities.
But the synod has now taken a different view.
The draft legislation is also opposed by Greece's homosexual community on the basis of discrimination, as it only takes account of heterosexual couples.

New Legal English Vocabulary
La Cambridge University press e la Translegal non ci lasciano da soli.
Il testo di International Legal English viaggia sempre di più on line.
Dopo le attività on line predisposte dalla Translegal, arriva il vocabulary trainer finalizzato a far acquisire il lessico presente in ogni unit del testo.
Si parte dalla definizione della parola, seguito da esercizi (questi ancora a un livello di solo abbinamento parola-definizione) fino ai diversi giochi dove lo studente mette alla prova la sua abilità di saper identificare immediatamete la parola o frase richiesta.

Il risultato raggiunto da chi non risulta in elenco va dai 6 ai 24 punti su un totale di 60.
Vogliamo discutere delle difficoltà dell'esame?
In generale, anche in questo appello le difficoltà riscontrate sono state in tutti gli esercizi, con qualche performance migliore negli esercizi di reading comprehension.
Spesso ho potuto constatare che lo studente non ha compreso il tipo di consegna, lasciandosi guidare dall'intuito sul da farsi piuttosto che leggere con attenzione quanto richiesto.
Riporto una delle consegne:
