Rising star in legal field
Barrister Mark Saunders was regarded as a rising star in his field of expertise; family law and the division of assets following divorces.
Saunders, 32, who rented a £2.2m flat in Markham Square, Chelsea, had graduated from Christ Church, Oxford, with a degree in law and became a pupil at QEB chambers in Temple, London, in 1998.
He was called to the bar in 1999 and joined QEB a few months later, working alongside QCs who have since become high court judges.
QEB's website quotes his entry in Chambers & Partners Guide to the Legal Profession: "Mark Saunders enters the up-and-coming category after a volley of praise.
"Observers note that despite his youth he has 'a maturity, unflappability and lack of hesitation in his addresses' that puts one in mind of the hoariest proponents of the law."
It also quotes reviews of his performances: "quiet but firm", "absolutely terrific", "a particularly good advocate who has an engaging style with clients" and "popular, gutsy and polished".
Saunders' experience covered cases with an international dimension, serious allegations of non-disclosure and millions of pounds worth of assets, the website said.
He also took on cases involving domestic violence and disputes concerning children.
Saunders wrote for the Family Law journal and had lectured to individual firms of solicitors on subjects including confidentiality and the press, and domestic violence injunctions
Such a remarkeable profile and yet a tragic end..

New Legal English Vocabulary
La Cambridge University press e la Translegal non ci lasciano da soli.
Il testo di International Legal English viaggia sempre di più on line.
Dopo le attività on line predisposte dalla Translegal, arriva il vocabulary trainer finalizzato a far acquisire il lessico presente in ogni unit del testo.
Si parte dalla definizione della parola, seguito da esercizi (questi ancora a un livello di solo abbinamento parola-definizione) fino ai diversi giochi dove lo studente mette alla prova la sua abilità di saper identificare immediatamete la parola o frase richiesta.
